Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Awareness for First Responders
Know What You’re Facing. Know What To Do.

When you arrive on scene and suspect an explosive or piece of military ordnance, would you recognize it? Would you know the right steps to protect yourself, your crew, and the public? This class isn't for EOD, it's for the rest of us that often encounter these items first.

This instructor-led course is specifically designed for firefighters, EMS, and law enforcement personnel. You’ll gain critical skills to:

  • Identify common types of unexploded ordnance (UXO), improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and commercial explosives

  • Understand military and civilian explosive hazards

  • Learn the immediate actions to take upon discovery

  • Coordinate effectively with EOD and supporting agencies

Delivered by experienced instructors with real-world military and first responder backgrounds, this course focuses on what you can and should do in those critical minutes before EOD arrives.

Because seconds matter. Knowledge saves lives.

In 2023 Fire & EMS, and Law Enforcement were involved in over 7000 calls where they encountered explosives, 31% were encountered in private residences. These encounters are expected to rise in the coming years.
